The Princeton Area Chamber of commerce met on Wednesday, Sept. 7 to finalize plans for the Calamity Jane Day celebration.
It was announced the Heck family has been chosen as grand marshals for the parade, which will be held on Saturday, Sept. 17. Judges are needed for the costume contest on Friday.
Judy Woodward and Donna Herdrich will prepare the meat for the tractor cruise supper on Friday night, Sept. 16 at the Hal England Center. Ron Sobotka will make the homemade ice cream, which will be free to the public. Smithfield Farms had donated the meat, Bill Heck will fix the baked beans and Pearl’s II will furnish the cakes. Chamber members are to bring salads. The supper will be from 5 to 6 p.m. in the Hal England Center basement.
The Princeton Rotary Club will have a breakfast in the Methodist church basement on Saturday. Biscuits, gravy and cinnamon rolls will be served.
Work on the Cow Palace is nearly complete, with the Calamity Jane Players having made a $1,000 donation toward the cost of the work. The chamber will also pay part of the cost.
