Lois M. Hickman Marrs, a 96-year-old resident of Trenton, died on Wednesday morning, Aug. 31, 2016 at Eastview Manor Care Center in Trenton.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016 at Slater Funeral Home in Trenton with Rev. Ron Ratliff officiating. Burial will be in the Spickard Masonic Cemetery in Spickard.
A family visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Marrs was born on Dec. 14, 1919 in Spickard, the daughter of Philip E. and Marie E. Payne Hickman. She attended Lone Star Rural schools in Mercer.
She was married on Dec. 14, 1937 in Trenton to Leland Marrs, who preceded her in death on Sept. 30, 2013. They lived on a farm in the Spickard area for 67 years before moving to Trenton. Before retiring, she was employed by Trenton Foods for over 20 years.
She was a member of Spickard Baptist Church in Spickard.
Survivors include one son, Don Marrs and his wife, Esta Carol of Spickard; one granddaughter, Sherri Lewis and her husband, Ryan of Lee’s Summit; one grandson, Scott Marrs of Spickard; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Denver Hickman and Robert Hickman.
Memorials are suggested to the Spickard Masonic Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
