Russell Gordon Nelson, a 71-year-old resident of Gallatin, died on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016 at Cameron Regional Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016 at the Latter Day Saints Church in Trenton. Burial will be at a later date in the Mt. Olive Cemetery at Chillicothe.
Mr. Nelson was born on Nov. 18, 1938 in Pocatello, ID the son of Clyde Francis Nelson and Mildred Esther Cornwall Nelson. He graduated high school in Pocatello.
He was married on July 23, 1964 in Long Beach, CA to Betty Sue Troeger, who survives of the home. He was the store manager for Martin’s Farm and Country in Trenton for many years.
He and his wife were members of the Latter Day Saints Church in Trenton .
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Donnal “Bud” Nelson and his wife, Shari of Kansas City and Russel Nelson and his wife, Janet of Dallas TX; 11 grandchildren; several great- grandchildren; a brother, Larry Nelson; two sisters, Lois Rawson and Sandra Jensen.
Memorials may be made payable to Donnal Nelson and left at or mailed to Heritage Funeral Home, 3141 N. Washington, Chillicothe, MO 64601, which is in charge of arrangements.
