Softball Tournament Benefits Backpack Buddies

Around $3,000 was raised for the Backpack Buddies program during a benefit softball tournament played in Trenton on Saturday.
The North Missouri Emergency Services, along with Chumbley’s and Hy-Vee of Trenton, Smithfield of Milan and Marko’s Meats of Princeton, sponsored the tournament, held at the Ebbe Sports Complex. Seven teams participated in the event.
First place went to Blake Darnell’s team of Princeton while ATF of Kansas City placed second. Third place went to “Smoking Bases.” Other teams in the tournament were the Trenton Fire Department, Eastview Manor Care Center, the Galt Fire Department and the Trenton Police Department.
