2016 THS Alumni Activities Announced

The 2016 Trenton High School Alumni celebration will be held Sept. 2-4 with a number of activities planned.
Honor classes this year will be the Class of 1991, the 25-year-class, and the Class of 1966, the 50-year-class. In addition, the Class of 1991 is honoring former Trenton R-9 instructor Marsha Hurst.
All-alumni activities get under way on Friday with a mixer at the Riverside Country Club, beginning at 6 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. This is no charge for admission.
The THS football team will be taking on Putnam County in a 7 p.m. game at C.F. Russell Stadium. Pregame activities will include introduction of the 1991 THS Football Team, the marching band inviting all former band members to join in their performance and the THS Key Club honoring all THS Alums.
The “Alum on the Run” 5K/10K race will kick off activities on Saturday. Registration is at 7:30 p.m., with the run to begin at 8 a.m. The event raises money for the school’s Dual Credit Scholarship Program.
The all-alumni open house and registration is at 9 a.m. in the high school commons. Alumni are invited to come by and visit with classmates and others about “days gone by.” The open house will continue until noon.
There will be an “All Alumni Tennis Challenge” at 10 a.m. at the THS courts. The event is open to alumni and guests. All skill levels are welcome. Contact Randall Hutchison for more information.
The evening ends with the all-alumni dance at the Black Silo Winery. The band, BRAND X of Kansas City, will be playing from 9 p.m. to midnight. Admission is $10 per person with paid alumni dues.
The all-alumni brunch will be from 10 a.m. to noon on Sunday in the THS commons, with a small charge to help pay for food. The Foundation Trust of THS Board of Directors will have its annual meeting in the commons at 12:30 p.m.
Riverside Country Club will be open for golf on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Those playing will need to pay the greens fee.

Classes of 1936-1943 – Luncheon at Lakeview Restaurant at 11:30 am. on Saturday; monthly breakfast on Monday, Sept. 5 at Lakeview at 8:30 a.m. Contact Mary Lou Pew Crawford for reservations.

Classes of 1948 and 1949 – Breakfast at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday in Selby Hall, NCMC Campus. Contact Naomi Barnett Scott for reservations.
Class of 1951 – Buffet lunch on Saturday at 10th Street Baptist Church – doors will open at 11 a.m. for visiting with lunch served at 1 p.m. Lunch is free to all classmates of THS ’51 and their guest in honor of the 65th reunion. Contact Laura Sue Daniels for reservations.
Class of 1952 – A noon buffet on Saturday at Lakeview Restaurant. Contact Ed Holt or Marilyn Leeper Whitacre for reservations.
Class of 1953 – Lunch at Royal Inn Pizza on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Class of 1954 – Class Get-together at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Royal Inn Pizza. Contact Wayne Brassfield for reservations.
Class of 1956 – Meet and greet in THS Commons on Saturday morning and dinner at 6 p.m. at Dockery Chapel Church. Contact Bill Brinser or Coleen Crawford Scott for reservations.
Class of 1959 – Noon lunch on Saturday at the home of Terry Dolan. Contact Mary Sue Davis McCullough for reservations.
Class of 1961 – Class gathering at THS Commons from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday. Social at 5 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m. in Cross Hall on the NCMC Campus. Contact Marie Husted Kamphefner for reservations.
Class of 1966 – 50th class reunion at the Ketcham Community Center on Saturday. Classmates will gather for a photo at 6 p.m., followed by a meal at 6:30 p.m. Contact Steve Maxey, Judy Holcomb Cox or Marsha Chrisman Tucker for reservations.
Class of 1971 – Reunion on Saturday at the Ketcham Community Center. Social hour is at 6 p.m. and dinner is at 7 p.m. Contact Marsha Robbins Eaton for reservations.
Class of 1976 – Class gathering at the home of Eric and Rochelle LaFollette Woodard from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Contact Mrs. Woodard for reservations.
Class of 1981 – Reunion at Black Silo Winery from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday. Contact Suzie Sawyer Murphy for reservations.
Class of 1986 – Evening meal and gathering at Black Silo Winery at 6 p.m. on Saturday. Contact Stacey Allnutt Russell for reservations.
Class of 1991 – 25th Class reunion. Class gathering at the Friday night football game. Class Golf Outing at noon on Saturday at Riverside Country Club. Class dinner at Black Silo Winery on Saturday evening, followed by all-alumni dance. A family picnic will be held on Sunday at Eastside Park at noon. Class of 2006 – Celebration at “The Space,” 1013 Main St., from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday. Appetizers provided and BYOB.

Alumni classes are reminded if they would like to include information about their class activities after the events in the Tuesday, Sept. 6 paper, they can e-mail them to the Republican-Times at [email protected] or drop them by the newspaper office. Classes do not have to wait for photos to have the information included, Pictures can be brought in later and published separately.
