Chula Man Is Winner

A Chula man, Chris Curd, has won the $100,000 top prize on a Missouri Lottery “Black Pearls” Scratcher ticket.
The 31-year-old purchased the ticket at the Trenton BP while on his way to work on Aug. 10. He had previously won $15 Scratcher tickets and on that day decided to buy three $5 tickets, one of which was the winner. After signing the back of his ticket and checking the numbers, he traveled to the Lottery’s Kansas City office to claim his prize.
Curd told Lottery officials he plans to buy a house, perhaps the farmhouse in which he and his family are now living. He is a crop and cattle farmer in the Chula area.
