Princeton Council Sets Tax Levy

Aug 9, 2016 | Headline News

The Princeton City Council set its tax rate for the coming year and approved two service contracts during a meeting on Monday night.
According to City Clerk Danette Snapp, the levy was set at .9063 cents on the $100 assessed valuation for the coming year. This includes .8173 for general revenue and .0890 for the band tax. This is down from last year due to an increase in assessed valuation.
Approval was given to two service contracts for entertainment at the Calamity Jane Festival. They include $100 for Brooke Baker to perform on Saturday and $525 for the band Hebrons, which will perform before the parade and during the afternoon.
A special meeting will be held tonight to address the situation with a building on the square that was damaged by fire and is supposed to be demolished. The next regular meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 6 at Princeton City Hall.
