Donald L. Cox, a 91-year-old resident of Jamesport, died on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016 at Cameron Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016 at Roberson Funeral Home in Jamesport. Burial with military rites will follow in Masonic Cemetery at Jamesport.
A family visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home, where an open visitation will be held after 9 a.m. on Thursday.
Following services there will be a potluck dinner at the family farm.
Mr. Cox was born on July 8, 1925 in Jamesport, the son of Harold L. and Esther Neese Cox. He was married on Dec. 28, 1948 to Nila Mann, who preceded him in death on Aug. 4, 2014. He was a veteran of World War II. He was a lifelong farmer.
Survivors include his daughter, Patsy (Roger) Nivens of Chillicothe; a sister, Marie (Henry) Alldredge; grandchildren, Dallas Nivens, Charmaine Nibarger, Deena Crockett and Donald Reeter; great-grandchildren, Clarissa, Elaina, Aubrie, Tristen and Chloe; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, David and Gregory Cox; a daughter, Beth Nibarger; and two sisters, Jerrine Coonce and Pauline Cox.
Memorials may be made to the Missouri Veteran’s Home at Cameron in care of Roberson Funeral Home 503 S. Broadway St., Jamesport, MO 64648.
