Fallen Fireman Honored

Area first responders and their families gathered at the Grundy County Emergency Services facility at noon on Monday to remember Trenton Fire Department Lt. Eric Lorenz, who lost his life on Aug. 1, 2015. Members of the TFD deployed a new U.S. flag dedicated in memory of Lorenz, with the flag to be raised twice a year – on April 6, which was his birthday anniversary, and on Aug. 1, the anniversary of his death. Lorenz is the second firefighter to be honored in this way. The first was Gary Munn, who lost his life in the line of duty on May 2, 1982.
