The Spickard R-2 Board of Education met on Monday night, approving several items in anticipation of the start of school in August.
According to information provided by Superintendent Burnie Schneiderheinze, approval was given to the student and faculty handbooks for the 2016-17 school year. Bids were approved from Ferrell Gas for propane, Anderson-Erickson for dairy products and MFA for diesel fuel and gasoline.
Kelli Girdner was approved as board secretary. A bid from Cleveland and Associates was approved to serve as the school auditor for the 2015-2018 school years. It was decided to use the MSBA teleconference services for speech therapy during the 2016-17 school year.
Schneiderheize announced that one vacancy still remains on the board. No action was taken on information from US Bank as well as the accountability report.
Open house at the school will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 16, with the first day of classes on Wednesday, Aug. 17.
The next board meeting is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 15.
