“Christmas in July,” a poker run to benefit the Trenton Police Department’s “Shop with a Cop” program, will be held on Saturday, July 23.
The TPD and Chumbley’s are teaming up for the event, which begins at 11 a.m. with registration at Chumbley’s. The ride begins at noon and will include stops at several area communities before returning to Trenton around 3 p.m. to determine the winners. A bike show is at 4 p.m., with trophies to be awarded. There will also be a barbecue dinner served. Cost to enter the poker run is $25 for the first rider and $20 for each additional rider, which includes the meal. Persons not wishing to ride but wanting to eat may do so for $10. Entry to participate in the bike show is $5.
Persons wanting to make a donation can do so by contacting the police department or the Green Hills Rural Development, Inc., which is the not-for-profit organization collecting funds for the event.
