Junior William Hann, a 93-year-old resident of Trenton, died Tuesday afternoon, July 19, 2016 at Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Resthaven Memorial Gardens north of Trenton. Bro. Danny Moore will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
Open visitation will be held Friday at Slater Funeral Home in Trenton.
Mr. Hann was born on Dec. 12, 1922, the son of Earl E. and Essie Hamilton Hann. He was raised on farms in Mercer County. He graduated from Princeton High School in 1940. He worked on farms until Jan. 1, 1943 when he was inducted into the U.S. Army. He spent the next 25 months in the south Pacific going from island to island.
On Jan. 10, 1946 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Roberts. She preceded him in death.
They spent the next 40 years in Kansas City. Mr. Hann retired from the Kansas City Stockyards and they moved back to Trenton.
He attended Spickard Christian Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Rogers and her husband, Thomas of Kansas City, KS; three grandchildren, Tony Rogers and Luke Rogers of Kansas City, Stephanie Allen and her husband, Thomas of Olathe, KS; four great-grandchildren, Thomas Allen, Jr. and his wife Julia, Tre Allen, Travis Allen and Kelly Rogers; one sister, Luretta LeBlanc of Trenton; two nephews, Garry Croy and his wife, Bev of Trenton and Larry Croy and his wife, Sharon of Happy, TX; three great-nephews, Wes Croy and his wife, Jenni, Lance Croy and his wife, Tinna, and John Croy and his wife, Colleen; two great- nieces, Jill Watkins and her husband, Wes, and Emily Fisher and her husband, Doug.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Hann was preceded in death by one son, Ronnie Hann; two sisters, Lois Hann and Lucille Williams; two brothers-in-law, Carl LeBlanc and Billy Gene Williams; and one great-nephew Michael Croy.
