Hunter Education Skills Course

The Swan Lake National Wildlife Refuge will host a hunter education skills course on Tuesday, Sept. 13 from 6-8:30 p.m. at the refuge, located two miles south of Sumner. The course will include gun safety, firearm and ammunition information, wildlife management, ethics, hunter preparedness and the role of a hunter.
Registration for the class must be done online at http://mdc-event-web.s3licensing.com/Event/EventDetails /102092. Prior to taking the skills course, students must take an online course which can be found at http://www.hunter-ed.com/missouri/. Once you compete your online course, bring your certificate to the skills course.
The course is open to anyone 11-years-old or older who has completed the online course. For more information, or for assistance registering online, persons may contact the Swan Lake NWR office at 660-856-3323 ext. 13.
