Jul 1, 2016 | Accidents, City Police

Reports have become available for several accidents investigated recently by the Trenton Police Department, including one investigated June 23 involving a motorcycle.
According to Officer Derek Miller’s report, the mishap occurred when a vehicle driven by Susan Leeper was eastbound on East 10th Street and made a left turn into a private drive. She failed to see a motorcycle driven by Joseph C. Smith of Laredo, which was westbound, and turned in front of it, causing the motorcycle to strike the passenger side of her vehicle. Smith said he did not have time to stop prior to the crash. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and Smith was taken by Grundy County Ambulance to Wright Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries. Mrs. Leeper was not reported injured.
Officer Miller also investigated a minor mishap on June 24 in which a car driven by Trevor Waggoner of Trenton was backing out of a private drive on Mable Street and struck a sport utility vehicle owned by Kristie L. Hurley of Chillicothe. Her vehicle was parked and unoccupied at the time of the mishap. There was minor damage to both vehicles.
Sgt. Larry Smith investigated a similar accident on June 24 at the intersection of 17th Street and Tindall Avenue. According to his report, a car driven by Travis J. Frohnhoeffer of Trenton was backing out of a driveway on 17th Street and struck a parked car owned by Deborah Stotts, who was standing outside the vehicle. There was minor damage to Frohnhoeffer’s vehicle and moderate damage to Mrs. Stotts’ car.
