The Coaches Memorial Golf Tournament was held Saturday at the Riverside Country Club. The duo of Derek Thorne and Evan Fries would go on to win the tournament, but not after fighting through a nine-hole playoff.
After the 18-hole tournament concluded, Fries and Thorne were tied with Russ Wade and Cody Phillips as both teams carded scores of 57. Not only were the two teams tied, but both teams also tied with nine-hole splits of 28 on the front and 29 on the back.
The playoff would take nine holes as the two teams continued to match each others pace, but on the ninth playoff hole, Thorne and Fries took a birdie while Wade and Phillips ended up at par to end the tournament.
The two squads were well ahead of the pack as the third best score ended up being a 62, tallied by the duo of Ochsner and Wright.
A total of 30 teams were in action at the event, spread across three flights. Complete results for the tournament were as follows:
