Funeral services for Edmon Dockery will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens of Trenton following military graveside rites.
Open visitation will be all day on Friday, June 3, 2016 at the mortuary.
Mr. Dockery, an 83-year-old resident of Trenton, died at his residence on Monday, May 30, 2016.
Mr. Dockery was born on Oct. 12, 1932 in Trenton, the son of Lawrence H. and Gertie F. Rosson Dockery. He was married on Aug. 11, 1961 in Trenton to Karen Hathaway Steele, who preceded him in death on December 26, 2007.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He returned to Trenton, where he worked for McCarty Truck lines for 27 ½ years. He was a longtime and committed member of the Teamsters Uand was a member of the First Christian Church, Trenton Elks Lodge #801, and Major Dale Stepp American Legion Post #31.
Mr. Dockery is survived by step-sons, Michael Steele of Kansas City and Don Steele of Trenton; a sister, Donna Ruth Noe of Turner, KS; three step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Laverne Dockery.
