May 27, 2016 | Headline News

The Grundy County Museum will again be holding ceremonies to honor the military on Memorial Day, which this year is on Monday, May 30.
Members of Joseph L. Norton VFW Post No. 919 of Trenton will conduct a flag-raising ceremony at the Baker School, which will immediately be followed by a rifle salute. There will be a brief patriotic message delivered, followed at 10:30 a.m. with the official opening of the museum. This year’s featured exhibit is artwork by current and former Grundy County residents, which will be displayed throughout the season with works of art being switched out at various times. The art work will be displayed in all three of the museum buildings.
At 1 p.m., Vietnam veterans will present stories of patriotism and commentaries from their experiences. This program will also take place at the museum, which will be open until 5 p.m.
