Janet C. Hughes, an 87-year-old resident of Weatherby Lake and former Trenton resident, died on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at home, surrounded by her family.
A family visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 27, 2016 at Holy Family Catholic Church at 919 NE 96th St. in Kansas City. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 7 p.m. A private burial is planned.
Mrs. Hughes was born on Sept. 9, 1928, in Sterling, KS, the daughter of Fred S. and Sophia Fabin Scoresby. She dedicated her life to her family and faith. Her positive spirit and loving heart shined brightly to all she touched.
Mrs. Hughes is survived by her husband of 59 years, Richard; three children, Paul, Mary Linda and Mike (Amy) Hughes; three grandchildren, Jared, Adam and Emily; and two great-grandchildren, Avalin and Myre.
