A fireworks display is being planned as part of the activities scheduled for July 4 and donations from the public, organizations and businesses are needed to help pay for the event.
Approximately $4,000 needs to be raised in order to have the display. A committee to help with the donation collection has been formed. Donations for the fireworks are being accepted at the Trenton Area Chamber of Commerce office at 617 Main St. They can be left there or mailed to that address. Checks should be made out to “Chamber of Commerce Fireworks.”
Collection cannisters are also being placed at the Casey’s General Store on 28th Street as well as the TNT Convenience Store on 28th Street, Trenton Main Stop Hy-Vee Wine and Spirits, Landes BP, Chumbley’s, the License Bureau, Farmers Bank of Northern Missouri, Citizens Bank and Trust and Farmers State Bank.
The fireworks display is scheduled for Monday evening, July 4. The event will be preceded with a musical program that starts at 5 p.m. at C.F. Russell Stadium and features Soca Jukebox, an island rock band from Kansas City and Greg and Suzie York and Friends, a country gospel band from Parsons, KS. The Christian Motorcyclists Association Light Riders will host the music program.
