John and Nancy Maples of Brimson will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2016 in the fellowship hall at the Union (Coon Creek) Baptist Church. The celebration is being hosted by their daughter, Rhonda Hughs of Trenton, their grandchildren, Kristen and Josh McIntyre, and great-grandchildren, Jayden McClure, Cayson Harper and Taylor Groves, son of their late granddaughter, Nancy (Nikki) Groves, all of Trenton, and Quentin and Kiezer McIntyre of Liberty. All friends and relatives are invited to attend. The couple request no gifts. Cards may be mailed to them at 822 N.W. 38th St., Gilman City, MO 64642. Mr. and Mrs. Maples, the children of the late Lester and Erma Brown Hughs and the late Woodrow and Ida May Webb Maples, were married June 3, 1966 by the Rev. K. Vernon Taylor. Their attendants were Bonnie Howard and Jerry Roberts.
