David Ferrol Cox, a 65-year-old resident of Mercer, died at his home on Saturday, May 7, 2016.
Mr. Cox was cremated under the direction of the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Service of Princeton and disposition of his cremains will be completed by his family at a later date.
Mr. Cox was born on July 6, 1950 in Trenton, the son of Harry Ferrol and Helen Roberta Crowder Cox. He was raised in Jamesport and Trenton and was a 1968 graduate of Trenton High School. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Army from Dec. 19, 1969, until Jan. 26, 1973. Most of his adult life he worked as a farm laborer.
He is survived by his companion of 31 years, Helen “Kolynn” Baker, of the home in Mercer; a sister, Janice K. Cox of Chillicothe; and several cousins and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bud Cox.
