Eleanor Diane Gregory, an 82-year-old resident of Princeton, died at her home on Saturday, May 7, 2016.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Princeton with Pastor Gary Watkins officiating.
A family visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service. Cremation will follow the service.
An open visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Jones was born on Oct. 8, 1933 in Pleasanton, IA, the daughter of Frank Dale and Elsie Hollinger Jones. She was raised in Trenton, where she was a 1951 graduate of Trenton High School. She was married on March 25, 1951 to Ronald Lee “Ronnie” Gregory, who preceded her in death on June 20, 2012.
Besides being a homemaker, Mrs. Gregory also worked as an Avon representative and as a real estate salesperson for several years. In Princeton she also served as treasurer of the PTA, the 4-H Council, the 4-H Advisory Board, was a charter member of the Mercer County Genealogy Society and belonged to the extension club. She was a member of the Trenton First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Ronna Clapham and her husband, Jack of Princeton; her two sons, Dana Gregory of Princeton and Nelson Gregory and his wife, Elizabeth of Marseilles, IL; six grandchildren, Shannon Clapham and his wife, Moria, Sean and Scott Clapham, Angela Briegel and her husband, Matt, April Clapham and Zach Gregory; and 13 great-grandchildren, Morgan, Coda, Brayden, Ashton, Madisyn and Jackson Clapham, Ava, Weston, Halle and Brynn Briegel, Damien Miller, Hunter Gregory and Caden Maupin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her only sibling, Frankie Jones, who was killed in an auto accident on Aug. 24, 1951; and her grandparents, Maude and Harry Hollinger.
