Charles F. “Chuck” Wright, a 73-year-old resident of Holts Summit, died on Monday, May 2, 2016 at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
A Celebration of Chuck’s Life will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 6, 2016 at Meadow Lake Acres Country Club, 2600 Meadow Lake Rd., New Bloomfield, with a reception to follow.
Mr. Wright was born May 23, 1942 in Renton, WA, the son of Owen T. and Ethel Mae Duncan Wright. He was a 1960 graduate of Trenton High School in Trenton and graduated from Trenton Junior College in 1962. He received his bachelor of science degree in education from Northeast Missouri State Teachers College in Kirksville in 1965, and his master’s degree in social work from Washington University in St. Louis in 1970.
He was married on Feb. 18, 1972, to Sheryl Seal at the home of Sue Grounds in Bismarck.
Mr. Wright was employed by the Department of Social Services/Division of Family Services for over 35 years and retired as program administrator of the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program in 2000.
He was a member and past president of Meadow Lake Acres Country Club in 1990, served on a number of committees and received Meadow Lake’s Arnold A. Weiss Service Award in 2007. He loved Meadow Lake and enjoyed playing golf and taking golf trips with his buddies. He also enjoyed bird watching and feeding the birds and wildlife, exercising and socializing with Healthplex members.
He is survived by his wife, Sheryl Wright; a sister, Leona (Dale) Kinion of Trenton; a step-sister, Linda (Jim) Weatherfield of Nixa; step-brothers, David Mulvania of Milpitas, CA, Wesley Mulvania of Bethany, Arthur Mulvania of northern California and Kenneth (Yvonne) Mulvania of Kearney; a brother-in-law, John (Mary Ann) Seal of Redfield, AR; his mother-in-law, Wilemma Seal of Farmington; and his beloved cat, Lucy Belle.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Golda Mulvania Wright; and father-in-law, Edward Seal.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association, Alzheimer’s Research Foundation or the Missouri Bluebird Society.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary in Jefferson City.
