The Trenton Police Department’s newest initiative, Operation Trenton Clean Sweep is well under way.
According to Police Chief Tommy Wright, this initiative gives businesses, organizations, and individuals an opportunity to give back and improve their community through adopting a city street for clean-up. Eight areas have already been adopted for clean-up and include Ninth Street, the Trenton Area Chamber of Commerce; Washington Street, from Ninth to the south end, Andereck, Evans and Widger; Kitty Street, from Ninth to the south end, the Stith family; Linn Street, from First to Seventh and from Linn to Johnson Drive, Dr. Albert and Carol Cross; Industrial Drive, Modine Manufacturing; Tindall Avenue, from West 10th to West 18th, PLUG; and Kerfoot, Hometown Pharmacy.
Over the next few weeks the signs will be going up to identify those areas, however, trash pick up has already started. Persons who would like to adopt a city street in their area or in another part of town can contact Chief Wright or Sgt. Jeb Walker at 660-359-5557.
