THS Golfers Win Triangular At RCC

The Trenton High School boys’ golf team made short work of Putnam County and Princeton on Monday afternoon in a triangular match at the Riverside Country Club. The Bulldogs carded a team score of 161, 64 strokes better than Putnam County’s mark of 225 and 65 strokes ahead of Princeton’s 226.
Nate Swann led the Trenton runaway with a 37, marking the second-straight dual in which Swann shot a 37. He reached his total with the help of one birdie and four pars, three of which came in a row over the final three holes.
Behind Swann, Trenton got a 40 from Lathan Croy, who managed three pars in his round. Corbyn Guile followed with a 41 and three pars and Cree Mullenix’s 43 rounded out the team total for Trenton. Mullenix had three pars as well on the day. Luke Lewis was also in varsity action for Trenton, carding a 46 with one par.
Putnam County’s low individual total was a 50, while a 53 marked the Tigers lowest individual total.
With the two wins, Trenton improved to 4-3 overall in head-to-head action.
JUNIOR VARSITY
Trenton’s three junior varsity players had a solid day with Tucker Franklin leading the way. The Trenton senior nearly posted a better mark than the varsity medalist, carding a 38. Franklin had five pars and a birdie in his round. Conner Lovell followed with a 54 and Cade Darting finished with a 56, parring the seventh hole.
UP NEXT
Trenton is back at it again today, traveling to Kansas City for a quadrangular match with North Kansas City, Park Hill and Richmond. Action is set to tee off at 3 o’clock. The Bulldogs travel to the Cameron Invitational Tournament on Wednesday, teeing off at 9 a.m.
