The Spickard Board of Education met on Monday night, taking action on personnel.
According to information provided by Superintendent Bernie Schniederheinze, probationary teacher contracts were continued for Shelly Porter, Teri Holtzclaw and Olive Smith for the 2016-17 school year. All other tenured faculty were also offered contracts.
The board approved the school calendar for next year, with the first day of classes on Wednesday, Aug. 17 and the last day being Thursday, May 18, 2017. The board also approved movement of passbook account funds to a certificate of deposit. Bids are being taken for the replacement of the gymnasium ceiling.
Discussion was held, but no action taken on the technology program and special education program. The Title I evaluation was moved to the April meeting.
The school spring concert and science fair will be held on Tuesday, May 10. The alumni banquet is scheduled for Saturday, May 7.
The next board meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 18.
