Helen Lorene Tolle, a 97-year-old resident of Trenton, died at her home on Monday, March 14, 20l6.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 18, 2016 at the Galt West Cemetery with Rev. Dan Wilford officiating.
Family visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday at the Slater Funeral Home in Trenton.
Mrs. Tolle was born on Dec. 18, 1918 in Chillicothe, the daughter of James and Emma Ishmael Moore. She lived most of her early married life on a homestead in Montana, coming back in 1944 to Grundy County, where she lived the rest of her life.
She was very active in PTA, 4-H and the American Cancer drive. She enjoyed cooking and was a very good pie maker. She was a very loving and giving wife, mother and grandmother. She was loved by all and will be missed by many.
Mrs. Tolle was married in Milan on Feb. 20, 1933 to M.G. “Glen” Tolle, who preceded her in death on April 24, 1997. She was then married on Feb. 14, 1999 to George Harkins, who preceded her in death on June 27, 2002.
Mrs. Tolle is survived by three daughters, Martha Lorene Crowdis and her husband, Charles of Humphreys Glendola Klinginsmith of Trenton and Evelyn Betz and her husband, Stan of Holt; a son, Marion Tolle and his wife, Kathy of Edinburg, TX; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, six brothers, three sisters and one son-in-law.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society and may be left at the funeral home.
