The Grundy R-5 fifth and sixth grade basketball teams closed out the season on Tuesday with a split against Laredo at home in Galt. Grundy dropped the girls’ game 27-5, but won the boys’ contest 33-21.
In girls action, Hannah Bowe led Laredo with 10 points while Chandler Lynch scored eight, Haven Burress had five and Rebecca Urich and Lainie Lewis each scored two. For Grundy, Daya Allnutt had all five points. The Lady Panthers finished the season with a 2-5 record.
The boys’ game saw Corbin Axtell lead Grundy with 17 points. Fletcher Christy, Cole Peterson and Alejandro Lilly all added four points each for the Panthers, who closed the year with a 6-1 record. For Laredo, Logan Foster had 11 points, Peyton Moore had eight points and Bo Meeker scored two.
