The Grundy R-5 fifth and sixth grade basketball teams picked up a sweep of the host school Tuesday night at the Newtown-Harris Elementary Tournament. Grundy took the girls’ game with Newtown 20-7 and followed that up with a 23-6 win over the Tigers in the boys’ game.
In girls’ action, Daya Allnutt led the Lady Panthers with 18 points and Montana Shoemaker finished with two points. The boys’ game saw Grundy led by nine points from Corbin Axtell and Colton Smiley and Fletcher Christy added six and four points, respectively.
