Blanche Lila Prewitt, a 91-year-old resident of Galt, died on Friday, February 26, 2016, at Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at the Galt Baptist Church. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens at Chillicothe.
There will be a family visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the church. General visitation is under way at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe.
Mrs. Prewitt was born on Aug. 2, 1924 in Lindley, the daughter of William “Bill” and Mary Chrisman Boyers. She was married on Jan. 3, 1942 in Trenton to Robert “Bob” Prewitt, who preceded her in death on Feb. 8, 1991. She was a homemaker and devoted to her family. She was a member of the Galt Baptist Church and for more than 15 years she enjoyed volunteering at the North 65 Center in Trenton. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting and embroidery.
Survivors include one daughter, Lila McCully Neill and her husband Butch, of Trenton; one son-in-law, Gary Browning of Kansas City; one sister-in-law, Phyllis Pugh of Trenton; five grandchildren, Rhonda Browning and her husband, E.W. of Marshall, Bobby McCully and his wife, Ali of Milan, Donnie McCully and his wife, Jennifer of Trenton, Johnny Browning of Kansas City and Shelly Browning of Kansas City; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Shirley Browning; one son-in-law, Donald McCully; two grandsons, Ronald Dean McCully, and Robert Lee Browning; and four sisters, Kathryn Carver, Rosie Anderson, Helen Boyers and Gertrude Boyers.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Advantage or Galt Baptist Church and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, PO Box 47, Chillicothe, MO 64601.
