Bucklin/Macon Co Girls 35

The Mercer girls blew past Bucklin/Macon County Tuesday night in semifinal action at the Class 1, District 12 Tournament in Green City. Mercer took and early lead and went on to win by 22 points.
Leading the way for the Lady Cardinals was Lindsay Wyatt, who scored 27 points in the win. Nicole Kost followed with 18 points and Bailey Owens was in double figures as well, scoring 11.
Mercer, now 25-0, will play Linn County for the district championship on Friday. Tip time in Green City is scheduled for 6 p.m.
The Mercer boys will be in semifinal action in Green City tonight, taking on the host school at 6 o’clock.
Linn County Girls 61
Grundy R-5 Girls 54

The Grundy R-5 girls put themselves in a hole early and couldn’t climb out bringing an end to their season on Tuesday night at the Class 1, District 12 Tournament in Green City.
Grundy fell behind 23-15 in the opening quarter against Linn County and by halftime, the deficit had grown to 39-24.
In the second half, Grundy began to rally. The Lady Panthers would outscore Linn County 15-11 in both the third and fourth quarters, but it wasn’t enough to erase the damage done early as Grundy lost by seven points.
Matana Munday led Grundy with 15 points and 21 rebounds and Abby Wells added 13 points, eight rebounds, five assists and five steals. Roni Busick hit double digits as well, scoring 10 points and Emily Milazzo finished with eight. Grundy also got eight points and eight rebounds from Zoe Littleton. The loss gave the Lady Panthers a final record of 17-9 for the season.
“I’m very proud of the girls’ efforts this season,” Lady Panthers’ Head Coach Les Jackson said.
SW Livingston Boys 67
Gilman City Boys 49

The Gilman City boys saw their season come to an end Tuesday night at the Class 1, District 13 Tournament in Norborne as they fell to Southwest Livingston by 18 points.
Cornelius Peery led the Hawks with 24 points and Skylar Reynolds and Shane Arnold added nine and seven points, respectively. The loss gave the Hawks a final season record of 8-15.
