James Dirk “J.D.” Bloom, a 78-year-old resident of Trenton, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016 at his home.
Mr. Bloom was cremated under the direction of the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Service of Princeton, Missouri.
Graveside inurnment services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Feb. 19, 2016, at the Early Cemetery in Mercer, with Pastor Kenny Wilson officiating.
Mr. Bloom was born Feb. 24, 1937 in Mercer, the son of Elmer and Bertha Zelta Bain Bloom.
He was raised in Mercer, where he attended school. He lived in Missouri and Iowa all his adult life working as a truck driver, mostly in the Warrensburg area. Prior to moving to Trenton, he had made his home in Princeton, for several years.
Mr. Bloom is survived by four daughters, Donna Frayer of Burlington, KS, and Gayle, Joann, and Lynn; one son, Donny Bloom; a sister, Connie Woodley; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and by other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by his paternal grandparents, J.B. and Bessie Bloom who raised him.
