Karen Elizabeth Arthaud, a 62-year-old resident of Chula, died on Monday, Feb. 1, 2016, at Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016 at the St. Columban’s Catholic Church in Chillicothe. Burial will be in the St. Columban’s Catholic Cemetery at Chillicothe.
There is no scheduled family visitation. General visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 5, 2016 at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe.
Mrs. Arthaud was born on July 3, 1953 in Georgetown, VA, the daughter of Richard Arthur and Patricia Waterman Alger. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in special education and worked as a home teacher for many years, homeschooling all five of her children. She was a member of the Home School Association and was an advocate for cancer awareness.
She was married on March 20, 1982 in Deerfield, IL to Jerold Loren Arthaud, who survives of the home.
She is also survived by three sons, Benjamin David Arthaud of Chillicothe, Matthew Joel Arthaud and his wife, Kara of Trenton and Jonathan Michael Arthaud and his fiancee, Bethany Ireland of St. Joseph; two daughters, Rachel Ruth Geiger and her husband, Nathan of Lafayette, LA and Elizabeth “Betsy” Danielle Garcia and her husband Stephen of Chillicothe; four grandchildren, Elisha Arthaud, Eisley Arthaud, Caleb Sides and Alexis Sides; her mother, Patricia Alger of Deep River, CT; two brothers, Daniel Alger of West Bend, WI and Steve Alger of Miller; and one sister, Patricia Alger of Deep River.
She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Peter Alger.
