Christian Alphonso “Chris” Ruppel Jr., a 76-year-old resident of Princeton, died on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016 at the Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton.
The body was cremated under the direction of the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Service of Trenton. Memorial inurnment services will be held at a later date in Illinois.
Mr. Ruppel was bon on May 13, 1939 in Midlothian, IL, the son of Christian Alphonso and Dorothy Moresitte Ruppel. He was raised in Midlothian, where he graduated from high school. He lived most of his life in the Chicago, IL area, where he was employed as a messenger for the ConAgra Corporation until his retirement in 2004.
He was married on July 14, 1999 to Karen Ann Rudolph, who survives him of the home in Princeton. The couple moved to Princeton on Oct. 31, 2006. Due to failing health, he had been a resident of the Sunnyview Nursing Home for the past year.
Besides his work with ConAgra, he enjoyed karaoke singing.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Ruppel is survived by his daughter, Tammy Scheffler and her husband, Jeff of Romeoville, Il; and a sister, Dottie Diedrich and her husband, Fred of Lake Geneva, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Roger and John Ruppel.
