New Minister At First Baptist Church

Josh Gottman has been called as pastor of the First Baptist Church in Trenton. His first Sunday was on Jan. 10. He comes to Trenton from Blooming Grove Baptist Church in McLeansboro, IL.
Gottman and his wife, Christy, are the parents of four children, Norah, Seth, Lucy and Guy. He graduated from high school in Lebanon, MO and his wife is a graduate of Clark County High School in Kahoka. They both attended and received bachelor degrees from Hannibal-LaGrange University in Hannibal. After graduation, Gottman was an associate pastor at the Fifth Street Baptist Church in Hannibal for four years. The family moved to Louisville, KY, where he completed his masters of divinity from the Southern Baptist Seminary. He was then pastor at the Blooming Grove Baptist Church for nearly five years before coming to Trenton.
The Gottman family is excited about coming back to Missouri and Trenton. “We have felt very accepted by the people of First Baptist and Trenton in our first week here,” he said. “My goal is to see disciples made and God glorified at First Baptist, throughout Missouri and around the world.”
