Spickard Board Meets

The Spickard R-2 Board of Education met on Monday night, taking action on personnel and discussion various items.
According to meeting information provided by Superintendent/Principal Burnie Schneiderheinze, the board offered him a three-year contract to remain in his position at the school, with the salary to be determined later. The board discussed the district maintenance plan, which includes installation of a new ceiling in the gym during the 2016-17 school year.
The board reviewed the district financial statement, with Schneiderheinze stating the school was on budget for the year. It was reported that overall attendance for the year was at 96 percent.
The next board meeting is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 20 at the school.
