Tri-County Board Extends Contract

The Tri-County Board of Education extended the contract of its superintendent and heard several reports during a meeting on Thursday night.
The board voted to offer David Prosbaco a new superintendent’s contract through the 2017-18 school year, with the salary to be determined at a later date. The board also reviewed the preliminary calendar for 2016-17 and discussed working with the Lions Club and City Park Board on improvements to the ballfields, but took no action. There was a review of the current budget and board members discussed investment strategies.
Brooke Dustman was selected as the local nominee for the MSBA Belcher Scholarship. The board heard reports on the guidance and high school English programs as well as reports from the superintendent and principal.
The next meeting of the board will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 9 in the superintendent’s office at the school in Jamesport.
