The Pleasant View R-6 Board of Education offered a contract extension to its principal/superintendent following an executive session held as part of its regular meeting on Tuesday.
According to information provided by Principal/Superintendent Rebecca Steinhoff, she has been offered a three-year contract to continue in her role at the school. This is her first year at R-6 and her first administrative position following several years as the vocational agriculture instructor in the Grundy R-5 District.
In other business, the board approved a request from science instructor Naomi Meinecke for winners of the local science fair to attend the Regional Science Fair in St. Joseph on March 14. The January MSBA updates were reviewed and board members were presented with certificates in recognition of their service. Mrs. Steinhoff gave an enrollment report, which shows 36 students in the Early Childhood Special Education program, 14 preschool students and 73 students in grades kindergarten through eight. The fifth and sixth grade basketball schedule was also reviewed.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9.
