William “Billy Joe” and Dorothy Meeker will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Friday, Jan. 8, 2016. A reception is planned to honor the couple from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016 at the Laredo Community Center. The couple request no gifts. Mr. and Mrs. Meeker were married on Jan. 8, 1956 at the Alpha Baptist Church in rural Laredo. They are the parents of two children, the late Mary Lynn Smith and Kenneth Meeker and his wife, Karen, all of Laredo. They also have five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
