Phillip James Shepherd, a 53-year-old Trenton resident, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015, at Sunnyview Nursing Home.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015, at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Chillicothe, under the direction of Lindley Funeral Homes of Chillicothe.
There is no scheduled family visitation.
Mr. Shepherd was born Oct. 29, 1962 in Kansas City, KS, the son of L. Dean and Falyce A. Yoder Shepherd.
He was a 1980 graduate of La Feria High School in La Feria, TX. Mr. Shepherd worked as a 911 operator in Marble Falls, TX, from 1998 to 2004 and received the Silent Hero Award from the governor. From 2006 to 2009 he worked for the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office. He was a member of the Galt Christian Church and Masonic Lodge #210 in Unionville.
Survivors include his mother, Falyce A. Shepherd of Jamesport; three brothers, Rick Shepherd of Jamesport, Joseph Shepherd and his wife, Vicky of Berthoud, CO and Richard Shepherd of Houston, TX; two nieces, Carolyn Cole of Rockford, MI, and Robin Renee Wilson of Las Vegas, NV; and three nephews, Ricky Dean Shepherd II of Milan, Joey Shepherd, Jr. and Daniel Shepherd of Berthoud.
He was preceded in death by his father.
