After a very successful 27-year career with Hy-Vee, Trenton Store Director Steve Busch has announced plans to retire on Feb. 7, 2016.
Busch has been the director of the store at Trenton since 2001 and both the store and community have benefited from his leadership.
Busch began his career with Hy-Vee in 1988 as a full-time assistant shift manager at Charles City, IA. He moved to shift manager in 1989 and was transferred to Chillicothe in 1992 as the second assistant manager. His next move was when he was named assistant manager in 1993, followed in 1998 by being named as a store director at the Waterloo, IA #1 store. He moved to Trenton in 2001.
In 2007, Busch was elected to a term on the Hy-Vee Board of Directors. In 2013, he was elected to the Hy-Vee Hall of Fame when he was named the store director of the year for the western region. The store also received the Customer Experience Award in 2014.
Busch graduated from Charles City High School and attended North Iowa Area Community College. While in Trenton, he has been a foundation board member and trustee at North Central Missouri College. He has also served on the board of the Grundy County Industrial Development Corporation. He and his wife, Rachelle, are the parents of two sons, Aaron and Austin. Aaron and his fiancée, Loren, both work for Hy-Vee; Aaron as an assistant manager of store operations in Trenton and Loren as an accountant at the Trenton store. Austin recently received his degree from Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph and works part-time at the Hy-Vee store in St. Joseph.
