Mary Susan Pollard

Mary Susan Pollard, a 93-year-old resident of Princeton, died on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015 at the Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015, at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Princeton with Pastor Sean Hammond officiating. Burial will be in the Half Rock Cemetery at a later date.
A family visitation will be held one hour prior to the memorial service at the chapel.
Mrs. Pollard was born on Nov. 1, 1922 in Half Rock, the daughter of Fred Alfred and Grace Elizabeth Snapp Hopper. She was raised in the Half Rock Community and was a member of the Half Rock Christian Church.
She was married on Aug. 25, 1940 to William McKay “Bill” Pollard when they both were beginning their senior year of high school in Princeton. They graduated from Princeton High School in 1941. The couple lived most of their working lives in the Kansas City area, where Mrs. Pollard was employed by the Hass Wilkerson Insurance Company for many years. After retirement in the late 1980’s, the couple returned to their home in Half Rock. In her retirement years in Half Rock, she enjoyed watching classic movies, reading and watching football, especially the Kansas City Chiefs. She also enjoyed having visitors stop by, particularly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Pollard is survived by her husband, Bill Pollard, of their home in Half Rock; her two sons, Gary Pollard and his wife, Diane and Larry Pollard and his wife, Kiera, all of Half Rock; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and by many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Abbie Reger, Hazel Clark and Willa Dean Anderson.
