The Trenton Park Board held a short meeting Wednesday evening, approving an increase in the salary for the assistant park superintendent.
According to information provided by board secretary Vicki Weaver, following a closed session the board voted to give Don Kennedy a 25-cent per hour salary increase in recognition of his recent OSHA training, effective immediately. Voting in favor of the motion was board members Sarah Allen, Gary Berry, Andy Cox, Curtis Crawford, Duane Helmandollar and Gary Schuett. Kari Whitaker abstained and board president Don Altes did not cast a vote as is normal unless there is a tie.
In other business, the board heard a report from Park Superintendent Jason Shuler, who said the material storage area at the Ebbe Sports Complex is under construction, as is the new shop addition. Work on the disc golf course will be done as weather permits.
No meeting is scheduled for January, so the next regular meeting will be held Wednesday, Feb. 3.
