Board election dates were set and the oath of office was given to a board member during a meeting of the Spickard R-2 Board of Education on Monday night.
According to information provided by Superintendent Bernie Schneiderheinze, the board set Dec. 15 to Jan. 19 for patrons to sign up to run for the April board of education election. The three-year terms of Jesse Richmond and Ginger Young expire. There will also be two one-year unexpired terms to be filled. Nancy Anderson was given the oath of office to fill one of those two vacancies until the April election.
The board voted to increase its liability insurance with MUSIC by $15 million. Substitute pay was increased from $70 to $80 per day. Approval was given for students to see a Christmas movie on Dec. 16. It was announced that the retaining wall on the southwest end of the school building was finished and that the school’s winter program will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 8.
An executive session was held for personnel with no announcement made. The next board meeting will be on Monday, Dec. 21.
