R-6 Board Accepts Bids, Approves Part-Time Position

The Pleasant View R-6 Board of Education met Friday evening, accepting bids, selecting a new health insurance plan and agreeing to hire a part-time speech implementer.
According to information provided by Superintendent Rebecca Steinhoff, the board approved a bid from Moore’s Construction and Woodwork to add a window to a classroom. Also accepted was a proposal from Chuck’s Pest Control LLC for pesticide services. The board also approved a change in insurance plans from Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Kansas City to Lifestyle Health Plans. The board members approved a rough draft of the 2014-2015 audit conducted by Lockridge, Constant and Conrad and heard an MSBA report and financial update from Mrs. Steinhoff.
In closed session, the board agreed to hire a part-time speech implementer to work four days per week for two hours each day.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 8.
