Stephen “Steve” (Pete) Peterie, a 66-year-old resident of Laredo, died on Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at NorthCare Hospice House in North Kansas City.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015 at the family home, 204 E. Third Street in Laredo.
Mr. Peterie was born on Jan. 29, 1949 in Trenton, the son of Alvin and Isabel Grabast Peterie. He was a 1967 graduate of Laredo High School. He served in the United States Army from 1967 until 1971. He was self-employed as a bricklayer for many years. He was a member of the Laredo Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Rosson Peterie of Florence, KS and Michael Washburn of Laredo; one daughter, Brandy Peterie of Marion, KS; seven grandchildren, Keegan and Kolby Washburn of Laredo, Kayden and Jack Tharp of Spickard, and Hannah, Wesley and Addison Roberts of Spickard; one brother, Neal Peterie and wife, Mary of Bowling Green, KY; one niece; two nephews; several great-nieces and nephews; and several great-great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial contributions may be made to Richardson Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, PO Box 47, Chillicothe, MO 64601.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lindley Funeral Home at Chillicothe.
