Eric G. Trainer, a 53-year-old resident of Trenton, died on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 10, 2015 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Kansas City.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015 at the Slater Funeral Home in Trenton with Rev. Steve Bramblett officiating. The body will be cremated after the service.
General visitation will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 16, 2015 at the funeral home.
Mr. Trainer was born on Oct. 31, 1961 in Trenton, MO, the son of Thomas DeWayne and Dixie Bell Vinson Trainer. He graduated from Trenton High School in 1980 and was a past member of Boy Scout Troop 97, receiving the God and Country award.
He was a member of First Christian Church of Trenton.
Survivors include two sisters, Sue Arnold and her husband Bruce of Milan and Joye Elliott of Trenton; one brother, Thomas Trainer and his wife, Shirley of Oskaloosa, IA; six nieces and nephews, Melissa Haught, Matthew Whitacre, Dean Trainer, Shawn Trainer, Cassi Cody and Dayna Elliott.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials are suggested to the Eric Trainer Memorial Fund and may be left at the funeral home.
