Seventh District State Rep. Mike Lair, R-Chillicothe, received the Missouri Retired Teacher Association Legislator of the Year Award at the MRTA annual meeting. The award was given for statesmanship and passionate support of public education, educators, and education retirees. MRTA executive director Jim Krieder, left, presented the award and said that Lair is a consistently strong advocate for educators and the children of Missouri on the House floor. During the 2015 Session, Lair introduced legislation and pushed much needed reforms for members of the Public School Retirement System.
