The Trenton High School junior varsity football team was in action Monday night, traveling to Kansas City to face Pembroke Hill. Like the varsity contest Friday night, Trenton scored twice and that was enough as the JV Bulldogs picked up a 12-0 victory.
Trenton was locked in a scoreless battle through much of the first half but just before the break Jeffrey White scored on a 17-yard run with under 20 seconds to go. Trenton would continue to play solid defense in the second half and Chase Marsh scored on a two-yard run with under two minutes to go in the game to seal the victory. Trenton failed to convert on either point-after tries, leaving the Bulldogs with a 12-0 win.
With the win, Trenton’s JV improved to 2-3 on the season. The THS JV squad will return to the field next Monday, playing host to South Harrison at C.F. Russell Stadium. Kick off in Trenton is scheduled for 6 p.m.
