Muriel Maxine Yetter, a 96-year-old resident of Trenton, died on Monday, Sept. 14, 2015 at Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton. She had resided at Sunnyview for the past 11 years.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2015 at the Grandview Cemetery at Albany.
Mrs. Yetter was on born July 29, 1919 in Albany, along with her twin brother, Marion Marshall, to parents Jess and Delphia Bratcher Hamilton. She graduated from Albany High School in May 1939.
She was married in May 1943 in Lawton, OK to Charles Max Stevens, who preceded her in death in June 1965. To this union two daughters were born, Donna Lee and Sharon Kay. She was married in December 1969 to Guy “Shorty” Yetter, who preceded her in death in January 1978.
Mrs. Yetter was employed for many years at the Gentry County Memorial Hospital as a cook. She enjoyed bowling and many trips to state tournaments. She also loved playing bingo and card games. She was a talented artist and enjoyed many hours of creating oil paintings. One of her favorite activities was having grandchildren visit, entertaining family members and she will be remembered for her cooking skills. She also will be remembered for devoting many hours to elderly friends who needed assistance.
Survivors include her daughters, Donna (Gary) Wilson of Trenton and Sharon Toombs of Bethany; grandchildren, Kandi (Cliff) Chaney of Lincoln, NE, Tim (Christin) Toombs of Indianola, IA, Ragen (Cheryl) Toombs of Gilman City; great-grandchildren, Austin, Price and Tyler Wilson of Omaha, NE, Makenna and Jake Hudson, and Connor Chaney of Lincoln, Jill (Steve) Whitson of Indianola and Makayla, Bailey and Dawson Toombs of Gilman City, MO; and great-great-grandchildren, Eden, Stella and Baya Whitson of Indianola.
Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Gary Toombs; a grandson, G. Kent Wilson; a brother, Marion; and sisters, Addie Thompson and Margaret Hamilton.
